KINDS ("we", "us") is operated by [OPERATOR LEGAL NAME], [ADDRESS, COUNTRY]. This policy explains what happens to your data when you use the KINDS website at trykinds.app and the KINDS iPhone app. Short version: your music library is processed on your device and is never uploaded to our servers.

Your music library

When you connect Apple Music, KINDS asks for permission to read your library. Song titles, artists, albums, genres and durations are read directly from Apple into the app on your device, where sorting and art generation happen. We do not upload, store, sell or share your library. It is not sent to AI services, analytics providers or advertising networks.

KINDS writes to your Apple Music library only when you approve a playlist and choose to save it. It never edits or deletes your existing songs or playlists.

If you import a file instead, it is read in your browser or app and is not uploaded.

If you take part in the Spotify beta, the same rules apply: your library is read into your browser, and the sign-in token is kept only for your browser session.

What we store

• On your device: your language preferences and a count of free playlist saves. On iPhone, sign-in tokens are kept in the system keychain. You can clear all of it from Settings in KINDS.
• On our servers: nothing about your library. Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, processes standard request data (such as IP address, browser type and the page requested) to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. This data is kept for a limited time, up to 30 days.

Curator profiles and public playlists (optional)

If you publish a playlist, we store your curator handle, display name, optional bio and the playlists you publish (title, description, cover image and the song titles, artists and Apple Music IDs in them). This information is public by design. Your profile is tied to a random key stored on your device; we keep only a one-way hash of it. Unpublishing a playlist deletes it. To delete your whole curator profile, email us from the app or the support page.

To count saves and handle reports fairly, we store a daily, salted hash of the visitor’s IP address. We can’t turn that hash back into an IP address, and it changes every day.

Payments

KINDS Pro on iPhone is sold through Apple's App Store. Apple processes the payment, and we receive only a confirmation of your subscription status, never your card details. If web payments are offered, they are processed by our payment provider ([PAYMENT PROVIDER]), which receives the details you enter at checkout. We receive your email address and subscription status.

Cookies and tracking

KINDS does not use advertising cookies or cross-site tracking. Promotions shown in the free version are our own and are not targeted using your music or any personal data.

Legal basis and your rights

We process the limited data above to provide the service you asked for (contract) and to keep it secure (legitimate interest). Depending on where you live, including under the GDPR and Turkey's KVKK, you have the right to access, correct, delete or export your personal data, to object to processing, and to complain to your data protection authority. Since we don't hold your library, most requests can be fulfilled by clearing KINDS on your device. For anything else, email us.

Children

KINDS is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Changes

If this policy changes in a meaningful way, we will update the date above and highlight the change in the app.
